Summer Book List

It has been three months of quarantine and most of us are already feeling cabin fever. It is nice to go for walks outside and enjoy the weather but if you are like me then you are probably taking advantage of this time to catch up on some reading.

Here is a list of some books I recommend reading this summer. Some are current favorites of mine and others are classics. Everyone enjoys a good romance novel and my go to romance novels are often written by Jane Austen. I included one of my favs “Northanger Abbey.” I love a good vengeance tale and one of my favorite books of all time is “The Counte of Monte Cristo”

A current book I discovered that I am currently reading is Laila Lalami’s “The Other Americans” I am enjoying reading it so far and I recommend it.

The books I included range from genres and themes and are in no particular order:

Virginia Wolf: To the Lighthouse

Wallace Thurman: The Blacker the Berry

Yann Martel: Life of Pi

Jane Austen: Northanger Abbey

Alexandre Dumas: The Count of Monte Cristo

Laila Lalami: The Other Americans

Paulo Coelho: The Alchemist

Charlotte Bronte: Jane Eyre

Maggie De Vreis: Missing Sarah: A Memoir of Loss

Fyodor Dostoyevsky: Crime and Punishment

Art Spiegelman: Maus

Marjane Satrapi Persepolis

Stay safe!
