Welcome and thank you for checking out my Podcast!

Conversations with Shukri is a passion project for me and I was compelled to create a space where people like me can discuss and share ideas on a wide range of topics. The rapid growth of the podcast industry has created a great medium for meaningful dialogue and for more people like me who simply want to share, learn and grow to find likeminded individuals. i am a major fan of other podcasts like Yasmine Mohammed, Dr. Glenn Loury, Lex Fridman, Sam Harris, Malcolm Gladwell and many other thought provoking podcasts. 

Conversations with Shukri is unique because there are not many Somali Muslim women’s voices in the media and my goal is to tackle very difficult conversations ranging from: Islam, women’s rights, politics, conflicts and other important discussions that may be hard to challenge, but is nonetheless very important for our own well-being. In world that is growing increasingly more polarized, we no longer can over look societal ills and must take a deeper look into why things are the way they are. We need more civil engagement and more importantly the COURAGE to challenge ourselves and others to do better for the next generation.
